This story is part of a group of stories called

Persona 5 is full of polish, allure, charm — and more than 100 hours of gameplay. This guide and walkthrough will show you everything you need to know.

Sae’s palace is very straightforward. While the hallways may twist and turn, there is frequently only one path. It is broken up into a couple of different floors that you will progress through.

No matter how you feel about him as a character, goro akechi is an invaluable member of the phantom thieves throughout this dungeon. He is strong, and his persona’s abilities are very helpful. Take him with you.

Member’s card

Return to the main floor safe room. Once you have fast traveled, go up the stairs and onto the balcony that held the chest from earlier. Look for a grey door on the right side of the balcony. It will be covered in posters. Enter through this door and into a small room. Exit this small room through the door across from you.

Instead of going up the stairs and fighting the scary shadow head on, climb up the mechanical looking boxes to your right. Once you reach the top of the boxes, you will see a vent opening. Go through it.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Once out of the vent, jump down and take the door on your left. You will now be behind the scary shadow and can ambush it. You can take it down fairly easily with wind spells. Once it falls, you will get a security keycard. This is a vital item.

Return to the previous room and go through the right door. Follow the path until you reach a gated door. Use your new keycard to open it. Once inside, crawl through the vent and emerge in the control room.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Approach the giant shadow and attack it. It will go down quickly if you use psi abilities. He will drop a bunch of member’s cards. Futaba will approach the control panel and register you a new card. She will also procure a map of the floor.

Head through the vent that ryuji finds. You will be in a small room. Use your keycard on the door to the right and return to the long hallway. Turn left up the stairs. Take the door in front of you and go up some more stairs.

Take a right off the stairs and go through the keycard door to your left. From here, return to the elevator that sae went up. Use your keycard on the elevator and ride up to the member’s floor.

High limit card

Congratulations, you have reached the member’s floor. The first thing you need to do now is approach the counter in front of you. The cashier will explain the coin system and tell you what you need to do next. You need 50,000 coins before you can buy the next floor’s card. He will give you some starting coins and a map.

Dice game

Before going to gamble your new coins away, take the first right from the elevator to find the member’s floor safe room. Now return to the counter and hang a left. Enter into the dice game area. You will be in a large game room. Ignore all of it for now and take a left out of the hall. Approach the vent and crawl through it.

Once you emerge out of the vent, take a right and follow the path. You will find some more climbable machines ahead of you. Climb them.

Once you cross the machine, hang right and enter a small room for a chest.

Take the left path until you reach a door. Enter through the door and head up the stairs to your right. You will now be on the second floor. Follow the second floor path until you reach another staircase. Take this staircase down and follow the path. Take a right and then a left. In front of you will be the entrance to the dice game area safe room.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Hang a right out of the safe room and fallow the right side hall. Once you reach the door, go through it and continue along the path. Ignore the barred door for now and take two right turns. There will be a vent on the back side of the room. Crawl through it for a chest.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Continue along the hall once you leave the chest room. Take the door at the end of the hall and go left to unlock a shortcut. From the door, continue forward and enter the dice game control room. Attack the operator and use bless skills to take him down quickly.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Once he is dead, futaba will rig one of the game rooms. Exit into the game area through the shortcut you recently created. Approach the game room with an exclamation mark over it.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Approach the game master and bet on "between 3-10." do this four times and you will gain some coins. Take your winnings and attempt to leave the dice game area. Akechi will somehow get a bunch of extra coins for your team. Leave the area and walk straight forward into the slots area.

Slots

Walk along the slots and fight the hostess shadows along the way. At the end of the hall, take a left and go up the stairs. Fallow the path until you reach a very fancy room. Walk right and unlock a shortcut for yourself.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Return to the stairwell and take the door in the center of the room. You will now be in the room with the big slots. Approach the gigantic slot machine in the middle of the room and examine it.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

From here, head up the left stairs and observe the middle wall. (you can climb it from the left side.) doing so will net you a chest.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Follow along the back area until you reach the exclamation point. Reach the terminal the same way you reached the chest. Futaba will examine it and tell you that you need to find two new terminals. The instructions she gives you can be a little confusing. Leave this room in search of the red and green terminals.

Head right down the hallway with the pacing enemy. Go through the door and climb to your left to reach some treasure …

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

. And also the green terminal. It is located directly behind the chest.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

The red terminal is also very easy to find. Back track your way to the start of the slot room area, where you first fought the hostess enemies. The red terminal will be on the wall by the entrance door.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Once futaba is done fiddling with both terminals, return to the gigantic machine. Spin the wheel and win the jackpot. Congratulations! Now return to the counter in the member’s area to buy your high limit card.

When you turn around to enter the elevator, a shadow will be waiting for you. Battle it and then head up the elevator. Once you arrive, the casino worker will ask if you have a reservation. Time to exit for now and change sae’s cognition in the real world.

Break point, lowering the barrier

The process of lowering sae’s barrier is a relatively fast one. Sleep after leaving the palace and then attend court the next day. Once sae sees you there, return to her palace.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

100,000 coins

Return to the member’s floor and take the elevator back up to the high limit floor. Once you emerge from the elevator, turn around to find the high limit floor safe room.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Approach the counter of the high limit floor to gain some more coins and a map. The cashier will point you toward the doors above him. Follow his advice and climb the stairs behind the counter. At the top, examine the big doors.

You will now be on a balcony, a massive scale bridge in front of you. Examine the authentication device to the left of the bridge. Turns out you need a lot of coins to make it to sae. Return to the elevator.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

House of darkness

From the elevator, take a right and enter the house of darkness. Once inside, there is the house of darkness safe room to your left. Pay the entrance fee and advance into the house of darkness itself.

When they said this place was dark, they weren’t kidding. It is nearly impossible to see anything normally. In order to see properly, use third eye. While this will not make things terribly bright, it will be much easier to see. Here is a map of the entire house of darkness to help you get through it:

Follow the twists and turns until you reach a locked door. After you examine it, turn to your left to discover a vent. Crawl through here to progress.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Once out of the vent, jump up the glowing platform and follow the path. Take a left at the fork for a chest. Take the right fork to continue moving forward. Stick to the right side of the wall to stop yourself from getting lost. Climb up the next glowing podium and take the vent out.

From here, take the path forward for a chest and a shortcut back. Take the left door to win the maze. In the victory room, open the chest in the center.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Walk forward from the chest and go through the double doors. The shadow who first let you in here will cheat and block your path. Take the vent to the left.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Once you emerge, take a left to open up a shortcut back. Take a right from the vent and follow the path down. Follow the hall to the end and jump up the boxes to the left. There is a chest to your right and a door to your left. Take the chest first and then exit.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Use the card to open up the card barrier and then head through the right door. You will finally be at the end. Take a left for the house of darkness goal area safe room. Approach the game master for the house of darkness and battle him. Take your winnings and exit the house of darkness.

Battle arena

This time you want to take a left from the elevator and enter the battle arena. Once you enter the area, hang left for the battle arena safe room. Now approach the counter and speak to the cashier. He will inform you of the cost to play and tell you that only one champion may enter. Now is your time to shine.

Once you are fully prepared. Enter the battle arena.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

You will have to fight three rounds, all of them fairly easy.

  • Round 1: use psi abilities to take both enemies down quickly. Just keep spamming it, as you can’t use hold up on your own.

  • Round 2: same basic principle, except this time you want to use bless skills instead of psi. These enemies will go down easily.

  • Round 3: you will now go against a big guy. Don’t be intimidated by his size. Just battle him like you would any other enemy. Hit him as much as you can with spells and physical skills. When he charges up/focuses, make sure to use block the next turn. As long as you use your personas/items to stay healthy and guard against his big moves, he should go down without a problem.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Access the bridge

Take your 100,000 coins and return to the bridge balcony. Examine the authentication panel again and get a fun scene with lots of very involved math. Cross the bridge and enter the manager’s area.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Once you discover the treasure’s location, it is time to leave the palace for a while.

Sending the calling card

Meet up with the gang in the hideout. Instead of sending the card immediately, akechi will advise that you wait until the last possible second. Spend your free time however you choose and meet back up on november 18th. Send the calling card out and re-enter the palace for a final time. We all know how this ends right?

Sae leviathan niijima boss fight

Return to the high limit floor and cross the bridge. The treasure will be gone, so go up the stairs and enter the elevator. Time to fight sae.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

To start the fight, attack sae with whatever you want. Eventually, she will begin spinning the giant roulette wheel that is the battlefield. While the roulette wheel is spinning, do not attack sae. If you do, she will cause a penalty to fall on you, reducing your health to 1. Instead, use guard to pass your turn.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Make a safe bet and then lose. When morgana asks if you noticed anything, tell him yes and then claim that "there is a glass lid." morgana will agree and allow you to send a party member to snipe the glass. Send off akechi, and keep fighting. This time when roulette time comes, make another bet and watch akechi snipe the glass.

Once you catch sae cheating, she will evolve into a gigantic monster with crazy weapons.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Battle her like normal, using buffs and your party member’s most powerful skills. She will occasionally start the roulette again and allow you to bet. Don’t attack her during this period. If you win the roll (be it health, SP or money), sae will transfer the losses to you.

Once her health reaches a dangerously low level, she will lower her defense and raise her attack. Now is the time to give her your all. Without being too reckless with your own health, throw everything you have at sae. Eventually she will fall. There isn’t much of a secret behind this boss. Just heal and attack.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Escape

The gang will split up now. Cross the ceiling and defeat the enemy, just as you did earlier. However, this time around you will get some additional dialogue from arsene, your very first persona.

Once joker gets caught, go grab some popcorn or something and enjoy the next hour and a half or so of dialogue and cutscenes. It is all very interesting and enlightening with two save sections in the middle, so don’t stress about it too much. Just sit back and relax. Time to learn a thing or two.

Persona 5: niijima palace - members floor, house of darkness maze, battle arena in the casino palace

How to explore and beat the sixth palace.

In persona 5 niijima's palace is the sixth dungeon, and takes place during the months of october and november.

As before, you'll be taking a few visits to niijima's palace dungeon, with several infiltrations and a run to get the treasure and take on the boss.

If you're after help for other parts of the game, consult our persona 5 guide and walkthrough.

Niijima's palace dungeon

Investigation

On the main floor, head up the stairs to the right and go through the door - you'll recognise this area from the game's opening moments. Make your way across the suspended platforms to the south west corner of the room, try the locked door, then head across to the western edge of the room and crawl through the vent. Drop down to the area below and speak to the palace's owner.

Once they're gone head to the lower area and try the elevator, defeat the shdow that appears, and then return to the real world.

Infiltration

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Make your way back to the elevator, use the safe room, and then head through the door in the south west corner.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Follow the corridor around to the west, climb the stairs, go through the door ahead, and climb over the machinery to the south. Keep following the passageway until you find a flight of stairs with a powerful shadow at the top - you will have to fight him eventually, but for now leave him be. Head north to find another safe room, then climb on the machinery on the west of the room to find an air vent.

Crawl through, drop down on the other side, and go through the door to the east - this will allow you to ambush the shadow you skipped earlier and make the fight a little easier. Once defeated he'll drop a keycard, so head back through the door and head to the north. Use the keycard on the locked door ahead, then crawl through the vent into the surveillance room.

Ambush the shadow and grab the membership card, then leave the room via the vent in the north east corner. Exit the room using the keycard then head up the stairs to the east and use the keycard on the next door to return to the main floor and make your way back down to the elevator to ride to the next area.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

After another brief meeting with the palace's owner, talk to the cashier, use the safe room, and then head to the west to enter the dice area.

Pick a room at random and try a few games of dice until you realise it's rigged, then crawl through the vent near the northernmost dice room.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Follow the passage around anticlockwise then jump over the machinery ahead. Head west, follow the passage north, then turn right and go up the stairs. Once the corridor heads south turn right at the end, use the safe room, and then head east. Keep following the passage around until you reach the door at the end, then head through to enter the dice control room.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Defeat the shadow in the control room then return to the main gambling area. Futaba will mark a room on your map, so pop in there and play a few more games of dice - this time you can't lose, so keep going until ryuji and another member of your party volunteer to grind for cash, then return to the lobby.

You now have enough cash to play the slots, so make a quick stop in the safe room and then head through the door to the east.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Ignore everything going on in this room for now, and just head for the door in the west.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Examine the giant slot machine, then head up the short flight of steps to your right and climb onto the bank of slot machines at the top. Examine the panel, then climb back down and return to the first slot room.

Turn right and follow the corridor, open the door, and then climb onto the machinery on the left at the end to find the green control panel. Double back and enter the main part of the slot room (heading back to the lobby) and the red panel will be on the wall to your rightjust past the last row of slot machines.

Once both panels are done return to the giant slot machine and give it a whirl, then return to the cashier and collect your high limit card then use the elevator to move to the next floor and speak to the bouncer.

This is as far as you can go in this visit, so return to the real world for now.

High limit lobby, house of darkness maze, and battle arena

Ignore everything for the moment and just head through the door to the south and use the machine next to the scales, then return to the lobby. There are two challenges you need to beat to earn yourself the required sum, and conveniently the entry fee for one of them is exactly the prize you can win for the other, so start by heading to the house of darkness to the west.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Once inside the maze visibility is extremely limited and there's no map, but the maze is reasonably simple to navigate.

Part 1: hug the wall to your left and follow it until you come across a vent, try the nearby door, then crawl through the secret passage.

Part 2: drop down to the floor below, and keep hugging the wall to your left. Skip past the first passage with the blue lights, then take the next one and keep hugging the left wall until you reach a locked door. Nearby you'll be able to see the back of an illuminated letter - climb onto it and head for the top, crawl through the vent, drop down the other side, and keep hugging the wall to the left until you reach another door, go through, and head down stairs and through the door on the west.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

House of darkness outer chambers

After a cutscene your path will be blocked, so crawl through the vent on the left hand wall near the playing cards, follow the passage west and round to a flight of stairs, head up, and then climb onto the machinery in the north west corner of the passage above and take the door to the south to emerge past the blockage in the main hallway. Head through the door to the west, fight the shadow for your prize, and then return to the high limit lobby.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Cross the lobby and enter the arena area - you'll face off against three rounds of increasingly tough shadows, and you'll be fighting alone, but as long as you have plenty of healing items or personas with healing skills it shouldn't provide too much of a challenge.

Return to the scales, deposit your winnings, and cross the bridge to the treasure room before returning to the real world.

Niijima boss fight

The fight itself is straightforward, but is complicated slightly with a gambling mechanic. If you win you'll be granted a buff, have HP or SP restored, or gain some other tactical advantage, but if you lose you'll hand the advantage to your opponent.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

For the first few rounds, whatever you pick you will lose so only opt for low stakes bets, but pay attention to where the ball originally lands before being diverted; after a couple of rounds, when futaba asks if you've spotted how the cheat is being done answer with "there's a glass lid", then send one of your squad to deal with it. Once the cheat has been disabled, place high stakes bets on the number the ball originally landed on and you should be in for a relatively easy ride.

The second phase is a tougher fight, but the mechanics remain the same - we'd recommend using a combination of concentrate and fire-based attacks if possible, as while it's not a specific weakness it does seem to do slightly more damage than other attacks. Keep one party member on healing duties, and wear away until the fight is over.

You'll now revisit the opening sequence of the game, but this time it'll make some sort of sense - just do what you did last time around.

Persona 5 guide: walkthrough and tips for making the most of your school year

Our complete walkthrough to surviving student (and supernatural) life.

After what feels like an eternity, the next game in the persona series has arrived. Persona 5 offers the same unique blend of day-to-day social sim elements of life as a japanese student, combined with travelling to alternate dimensions to do battle against bizarre creatures.

It's a huge adventure, and while its structure breaks up its dungeon crawling into manageable chunks, deciding what to do and when can be in an intimidating prospect.

Our persona 5 walkthrough will highlight everything you should look out for on the critical path, while this persona 5 guide page as clue you in on the many side activities and social interactions you may want to make time for throughout the year.

Persona 5 walkthrough

How persona 5 works is the game follows fixed timetable, and although you are largely free to come and go as you please, the major story elements occur at specific points in the calendar, and failing to complete certain objectives on time will result in a game over.

You get a reasonable amount of time to complete them, but it's important to note that the deadline is a deadline, so while you need to spend time talking to people, taking a part time job, engaging in leisure activities, etc., never take your eye off the clock!

The below has a list of every month and palace bar their character name or setting (depending on which is less of a spoiler). In general, we've tried to keep spoilers to a minimum throughout every page, but be wary certain names and settings are unavoidable, so be wary of looking ahead where possible.

We've created a path that, if followed correctly, should allow you to maximise all the "social links" with the game's confidants, max out your overworld stats, and see the bulk of the game's content in a single playthrough.

If you're already part way through then we'll still give you pointers to some efficient levelling opportunities, as well as ways to tackle each palace and more.

Other persona 5 guides

Like any role-playing game worth its salt there's plenty of side-activities and depth to its combat, and this 100-hour long adventure doesn't disappoint. Here are guides to some of the game's most popular systems, such as answers to those troublesome class quizzes.

Persona 5 tips for making the most of your school year

For those of you who have played a persona game before most of the mechanics will be familiar - there have been a few tweaks, but broadly speaking it offers no surprises.

If, however, this is your first persona game, there are a few things it's handy to know before embarking on your journey.

How do stats work?

Stats are broken into three areas - overworld, confidant, and metaverse.

  • Overworld stats are broken up into knowledge, guts, charm, proficiency, and kindness, and while they have no direct effect on combat they do impact your ability to do certain things in the overworld which in turn will effect your readiness for battle. These stats are levelled up through a variety of means - watching a movie, eating a hamburger, taking a bath, pretty much everything you do will have an impact - so make sure you explore everything the world has to offer.

  • Confidant stats affect your ability to craft personas, your squadmates' passive abilities in combat, and options for romance. These are levelled up by interacting with people in the overworld, but some interactions will require a particular level in one of the overworld stats.

  • Metaverse stats affect the HP and SP points your character has as well as the performance of your personas - each persona you use has its own independent set of stats that affect its abilities and other facets of combat.

What are personas, arcanas, and confidants?

We'll cover the intricacies of persona fusing on its own page, but for the purposes of overworld exploration they hold an important function - each persona belongs to an arcana (like a suit in a deck of cards), and each character you encounter in the overworld will have an affinity for a particular arcana.

Carrying a persona of a matching arcana when you interact with a character will increase the effectiveness of your meeting, requiring fewer interactions to increase your standing with that character, so it pays to check you're carrying an appropriate persona before talking to anyone - the stats menu lists all your confidants, their arcana, and their current ranking.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Palaces and dungeon tips

Palaces are the game's main plot dungeons, but unlike previous instalments in the series they're not randomly generated, and it's not possible to finish them in a single sitting.

Most will require at least three visits - an initial investigation, a full exploration, and a return for the boss fight - but some may require more. Once one is completed you can't revisit it, but you can return as many times as you like before then, so make sure you get everything you need!

There are also momentos, which are bite-sized, random and optional dungeons which are useful to get extra EXP, items and more.

Combat tips

Combat in the game is turn based, and turn order is determined by the speed attribute of the characters and enemies.

Each member of your party has a basic melee attack and a ranged attack with a limited number of shots, and the damage deal by these is dependant on the characters level and the weapon they use. New weapons can be purchased from untouchables in shibuya or occasionally located in treasure chests.

In addition to base attacks, each character has special abilities tied to their person. Your team mates have a fixed pool of abilities available, with new skills added as they level up, but the main character has the capability to swap ability sets in and out each turn by switching personas.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Special attacks are mostly elemental in nature - fire, wind, ice, lightning, radiation, bless, and curse - and most enemies will be weak to at least one of these. Tougher enemies may have no weaknesses, though, and may also be resistant or immune to certain types of damage and in some cases may even reflect the damage back.

Hitting enemies with an attack based on their weakness will knock them to the ground leaving them open to follow up attacks, and if you can manage to get all enemies on the floor at the same time you can opt to unleash an "all out" attack to deal massive damage, or bargain with the enemies to get more loot, items, or even take their persona.

As well as activities such as fishing, baseball and other social stat boosters, you can craft tools at your workbench for dungeon crawling after april 17th.

Ingredients for crafting can be purchased from various shops around the overworld and will be randomly dropped when defeating shadows.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

While there are quite an array of items available, as a general rule we'd recommend sticking to just crafting standard lockpicks: you can easily make enough to open every locked chest you'll come across and each crafting session will earn you 2 or 3 proficiency points, so it's worth taking the time rather than opting to craft the eternal lockpick once it becomes available.

It's worth nothing on july 25th a second set of recipes will be added to your arsenal, and getting kawakami to rank 5 will occasionally allow you to craft items during school hours, and at rank 7 you can ask her to craft items for you, both of which can save you precious time.

How new game+ works

After reaching the true ending and watching the credits you're given the option of saving your clear data, and doing so allows you to start a new game that carries over some perks from your previous playthrough:

  • Your stats and levels (both overworld and combat) will be retained, and you'll keep all money and equipment, including weapons, items, armour, and accessories, gifts given to you during the final moments of the game, and skill cards.

  • Your persona compendium will also carry over.

  • Arcana ranks won't be carried over and the overworld map will return to default, but retaining your other stats will free up a lot of time to concentrate on ranking everyone up if you didn't manage it first time around, and you can spend more time on secondary activities such as reading or fishing without worrying that you're "wasting" time.

One thing to note is that enemies don't scale so combat may prove to be a little too easy a second time around, but you'll be given the option of selecting a new difficulty during the initial interrogation if you want to up the challenge. There are, of course, new bosses to fight, personas to fuse and trophies to unlock for doing said bonus challenges, so for completionists it's a must.

Description

They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a tokyo high schooler - attending class, after school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the persona, the jungian concept of the “self”.

The game's heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective masks and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need.

Ultimately, the group of phantom thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.

Persona 5 wiki guide

Are one of the side activities available in persona 5. In order to start playing them, you need to buy the retro game console from the second-hand shop in yongen-jaya which is available july 26th.

Playing video games differs from reading books in 2 ways:

  1. You'll get social stat points for each time you play, not just when you complete the game.

  2. You can fail a game if you didn't play it correctly so save beforehand to make sure you don't waste time.

There are 6 games in total that you'll need to complete in order to get the golden finger trophy. To help with this, you just need to play a game once (preferably star forneus) and then go buy the game secrets magazine at the shinjuku book store. That will make the games easier to complete. There's no downside to using the cheats besides morgana guilt tripping you.

If you complete a game, you'll earn a card which you can redeem at the video game store in akihabara for a reward.

Second hand store [ edit ]

Akihabara retro game shop [ edit ]

name price sessions points per session date
punch ouch 5300 3 ch+2
train of life 5600 3 ki+2
power intuition 5500 3 gu+2 10/10
golfer sarutahiko 3200 3 pro+2 10/10

Strategies [ edit ]

Every game has a different type of minigame challenge to it. Before playing a game, make sure to save in case you fail. Otherwise, you'll get nothing and it'd have been a waste of time. Here's what to expect from each game.

Star forneus [ edit ]

For each session, you just need to hit the X button a set amount of times before time runs out. Here is what you need to do for each session

  1. Press X button 25 times in 7 seconds

  2. Press X button 30 times in 5 seconds

  3. Press X button 10 times in 3 seconds, than 40 times in 10 seconds

Using the cheat book reduces the needed amount of button presses by half.

Completing the game gets you the shooting card which you can redeem at the retro game shop in akihabara for a forneus badge which gives you high evasion to physical attacks when equipped.

Gambla goemon [ edit ]

All you have to do for this game is choose if the dice roll will be odd or even. It's HIGHLY recommended that you use the cheat book strategy here. If you get it wrong, it'll change the outcome so that you win anyway.

Completing the game earns you the gambling card that you can redeem for a betting badge which makes you immune to the status fear when equipped.

Punch ouch [ edit ]

You need to input the button sequence before time runs out. Here are the sequences for each session

  1. ←,→,←,→,X; followed by hitting X 5 times

  2. ←,→,←,→,X; followed by hitting X 5 times. Repeat twice.

  3. ↑,↑,X; then hit X 10 times. Repeat twice. Then ←,→,←,→,↑,↑,X

Using the cheat strategy increases the amount of time you're allowed. Completing the game earns you the boxing card which can be redeemed for the boxing badge which makes you immune to hunger when equipped.

Train of life [ edit ]

The point of the game is to roll the dice to get a number in a specific range with a limited amount of attempts. The number ranges are as follows;

  1. 8 or higher, 3 chances

  2. Either 3, 5, 7, or 9; 3 chances

  3. 4, 8, or 12; 4 chances.

The cheat strategy increases the amount of chances you have by 2 for each session. Completing the game gets you the railroad card that you can redeem at the video game store for a train badge which gives you auto-sukukaja when equipped.

Power intuition [ edit ]

By far the most annoying out of all the games you'll play. Make sure to save before playing a session. This is a mortal kombat type game where you need to input buttons in a specific sequence. However, they need to be inputted incredibly quickly in a fluid quarter circle motion while the final session has a half circle motion. You'll basically have to roll your thumb around the d-pad. Here are the inputs for each session.

It's HIGHLY recommended to use the cheat which gives you more time to input the combo because you'll need every second you can get. Beating this will earn you the fighting card that you can redeem for the PI badge which significantly reduces the amount of physical damage you receive when equipped.

Golfer sarutahiko [ edit ]

You need to stop the bar when it's in the yellow section so that the ball will get close to the hole. Get the ball in the hole within the allotted attempts. The cheat slows down the bar for you which makes it a lot easier to stop in the yellow section. Beating this game gets you the golf card that you can redeem for a golf badge which nullifies brainwash when equipped.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

Advertisement:

Persona 5 is an urban fantasy role-playing game, and the fourth numbered sequel in the shin megami tensei JRPG franchise's persona sub-series, developed by atlus for playstation 3 and playstation 4. It is the first mainline entry in the persona franchise following sega's purchase of atlus in 2013 and the first numbered persona game to launch on multiple consoles. The game released in japan on september 15, 2016, in traditional chinese on march 23, 2017, with an english dub in the americas and europe on april 4, and in south korea on june 8.

It is the year 20XX. The world is not as it should be. In tokyo, psychotic and mental breakdowns are becoming more common amongst the general public, leading to a string of high-profile accidents and crimes. Public confidence in the government and justice system is falling, and the powerful elites of the city plot to turn these incidents to their advantage.

Advertisement:

You are an ordinary high-school student who has been falsely convicted of assault and sentenced to a year-long probation in tokyo. On your first day attending shujin academy, you and a fellow outcast accidentally stumble into a mysterious mental world known as the metaverse: a place where cognition becomes reality, and real-world locations are twisted by the thoughts of humans. Within this world, the most corrupt humans have subconsciously created mental fortresses called "palaces" where their innermost vices and desires are allowed to run rampant.

It's not all hopeless though - as one of this world's inhabitants explains, stealing the "treasure" that forms the heart of the palace will erase the owner's twisted desires, forcing them to confront the horrible things they've done. With the aid of a mysterious smartphone app and the inner-power of "persona", you decide to use the metaverse to strike back against the rotten society that cast you out, forming a crew of phantom thieves dedicated to stealing treasure and forcibly reforming the corrupt.

Advertisement:

But that's not all. Beneath the palaces is "mementos", a twisted labyrinth created from the amalgamated thoughts of the entire city. Between jobs, you and your companions journey into mementos to halt corrupted desires before they become sinister enough to warrant their own palace. With each corrupted heart taking you further and further in the depths of mementos, you begin to wonder; is it truly a never-ending maze? Is there a bottom to this pit? And if there is, what's down there?

Persona 5's core gameplay is a refinement of the formula established in persona 3 and 4, with the game being evenly split between turn-based dungeon-crawling and dating sim-esque social simulator. However, a few elements from the first persona and persona 2 also make their return; all party members are able to use both melee weapons and firearms, and you can negotiate with enemies for personas, money, or items. Additionally, the dungeon-crawling itself been overhauled; the main quest palaces are all 100% pre-made instead of being randomly generated, and feature platforming, puzzles, stealth, and traps, making them much more elaborate than previous games' dungeons. The one exception is mementos, a sprawling randomly-generated palace which serves as the main setting for sidequests.

An updated re-release, persona 5 royal, released for the playstation 4 on october 31, 2019 in japan and is set to release on march 31, 2020 in the west. The game features several new additions, such as new areas, new enemies, revamped palaces, a new party member (kasumi yoshizawa) and confidant (takuto maruki), a new palace, and new story events set during the original version's winter time skip. The game also features graphical enhancements on the PS4 pro.

Persona 5 guide

Last updated: 4 months ago · guide information · version history

Casino of jealousy (1)

Pick your team that you’ll bring inside the palace and enter it the same way as before, crawling through the vent after jumping across the top. When you jump down into the area with the elevator, you will need to watch out for some enemies. One will be right by where you drop down and there will be two others on the other side of the room. You will want to enter the door on the other side of the room, opposite of the chest you opened on the previous visit, which will bring you to the backroom area.

Tip: remember to always cover for the elements your current team doesn’t have. For example, if you bring along makoto, ann and yusuke, then you want electric, wind, psy, bless and curse skills on your personas.

Go through the first door and the dead end nearby, as well as the next door you come across, will lead to just breakables. Follow the hallway until you go down some stairs, where you will come to a split. Head east first and you will eventually reach a dead end with a chest, containing a heaven ring . Return to the split and head west now, going south across the machinery and keep going south until you spot two doors. The one slightly off to the west is locked and requires a keycard, while the other one just has a breakable.

Continue north, past the locked door, to spot another door that leads to a treasure chest with some seedy gear in it. Past that are some stairs with a menacingly looking guard at the top, but ignore him for now to find a safe room at the far north. Attempt to go up the stairs and your party will give you an option to either confront the guard head-on, or find another way around. If you use your third eye by the safe room, you should notice that you can climb on top of the machinery, where you’ll find a vent.

Crawl through it to appear in the area behind the door the shadow was guarding. Go through that door to fight that same guard with an ambush initiative, which turns out to be two midnight queens. These are pretty easy enemies, as they don’t have too much health and are weak to wind, so they should go down within two rounds. You will receive a security keycard for winning the fight, which is just what you need to unlock some doors in this palace, including one you passed by earlier. That barred door only has some breakables inside, so you don’t need to go back if you don’t want.

Return to where you fought the midnight queens and continue north, through the next door. In this hallway, the first door you come across will be accessible by the keycard you just got and around the corner is another door that is being guarded by some shadows. Ignore them and head through the locked door to find a vent you can crawl through, leading to the control room. There will be another guard in here, which you have to fight. The auspicious pachyderm is weak to psy, so it should go down within two all-out attacks or so.

Members floor

You receive a members’ card off of the previous fight and thanks to futaba’s skills, you will now be able to use it in the casino to take the elevator you couldn’t before. Ryuji points out another vent you can crawl through, so do that to end up in an adjacent room that has another keycard door. You can explore a bit to the south to find nothing of particular value, as the one room is a surveillance room you can’t enter. So, use the stairs to the east and follow the path until you come to another keycard door that leads you back to the rafters above the main room.

Make your way back to the ground floor and use the members’ card to take the elevator to the members’ area (there is a safe room south from the elevator on the main floor). After some scenes, it looks like you will need to gamble in order to get to the next area, the high limit floor. There is another safe room off to the west, in the middle portion of the map here, if you wish to use it. Approach the desk and talk to the shadow dealer here to not only get 1,000 coins and a map, but also learn about the two playing areas to the left (dice area) and right (slots area) of the counter. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything in the slots area yet, so head to the east to enter the dice area.

Dice game area

The objective to the dice area is to guess whether the dice total will be between 3-10 or 11-18. If you get a triple match on the dice (three 1s, for example), then you get triple the payout and triple 6s will quintuple your bet. However, if you play a few times, you learn that what akechi said earlier rings true, as the games are truly rigged so you can’t win, so you will need to find another way to get the 50,000 coins. North of where you initially entered is a vent you can crawl through to reach the backroom area of the dice area.

This area here can be slightly confusing, but your objective will be to get to the north to some stairs. To the west of where the long hallway is on the eastern side are some machinery you can jump over, so do that and enter the room just north of that for a chest ( black robe ). Now, take the hallway on the western side to the north and climb the stairs you see on your map (be careful of a shadow that might be on the stairs). The room on the way to the stairs leading down just has a few breakables.

The first area back downstairs has two shadows close together, so try and wait until they separate to take them down. For now, go south, west and south again to spot a small room on the map, which happens to be a safe room. The stairs to either side of this area just loop around to the other set of stairs, although there are a few breakables up there. The door to the east of the safe room has a breakable in it, so continue south and you will come to a room that is locked from this side. If you head to the northern side of the room, though, you can find a vent that lets you get inside, where you’ll find a chest that has a parrying dagger .

Slightly north and west from that room with the chest is a door that will bring you to the cheating control room. Attack the guard there to get into a fight with a wandering reviver. This enemy is weak to both bless and wind skills, so it should go down without much trouble at all. After the battle is over, akechi will come up with an idea on how to rig the games in the party’s favor. Exit the backroom area and go to the marked dice room, where you will want to bet on the "11-18" option four times in a row. You should now have around 2500 coins after winning the rigged game. That’s all you can do here, so exit back to the members’ floor lobby for a cutscene, with you getting another 3000 coins.

Slots game area

As soon as you enter the slots game area, a shadow will stop you and force you into a fight. These two life-draining spirits are something you might have seen before, but they are different now. They are weak to nuke skills, so they should go down with relative ease, probably one all-out attack. After finishing the battle, look on the southern wall just before it opens up to spot a red screen. This control panel will be important in a bit, so remember where it is. There will be some waitresses posing as shadows walking up and down the aisles, so watch out for them as you head west.

The one door at the end is blocked by lasers, so you won’t be able to go through there. Go up the stairs nearby and follow this path until it goes back down some other stairs. From here, go north to find the locked door, but you will be able to open it from this side with your keycard. Now, head south and through the door that’s leading east, looking for some boxes you can hop over to your north on the map. There will be two things here in this little hole, a green control terminal (remember this) and a treasure chest ( smokestained armor ). You’re pretty much done here for now, so look at your map to see the door to the far west, which will lead you further into the slots area.

Your party will point out the big slot machine in the back, which is the one you want. Take out the two patrolling shadows, then scope out the place for any breakables, as well as the big slot machine itself. It looks like you can win the 50,000 coins here, but it’s highly likely the machine itself is rigged to make your lose. Head up either set of stairs and climb the wall on the southern side for a chest ( ghillie vest ), then climb the wall on the northern side to find the main control terminal.

Futaba can do her job at disabling the rigging, but not from here, as she mentions she needs access to both the red and green control terminals. One’s by the entrance, while the other is in the passageway and it can be a bit confusing finding them both. However, both have been pointed out in this section of the walkthrough (complete with pictures), so they shouldn’t be too difficult to find. Once you disable both, go and save in the lobby, then return to the big slot machine.

As morgana points out, there is a 20% chance the rig won’t work, which is why you saved. Play the slots and if you happen to lose, reload the save and try again. Once you win, you will have the 50,000 coins to buy the member’s card for the high limit floor. There’s nothing left to do here, so head straight to the lobby when given the option (might be a good idea to save again). Go to the counter and purchase the high limit card, as well as the soma and bead chain, since you should have enough leftover for those (they’re fairly rare and powerful healing items). Upon going back to the elevator, a guard will be there and you’ll have to fight it.

The final measurer is annoying, as it isn’t weak against anything, but it does resist ice/curse and absorbs wind, so don’t use those. You are free to use anything else and if you have access to lucky/miracle punch, then a critical and all-out attack should pretty much almost kill it. You want to quickly kill it, as it has access to garudyne, rakukaja and diarahan, the last of which can heal the mini-boss completely. After the fight is over, use the elevator to go to the high limit floor, where you find out you can’t advance, so it’s back to the palace’s entrance to return to the real world, but there’s something else you can do here.

Fusion frenzy

By now, you should have reached level 51, which means you can fuse the final persona for the strength confidant, seth. It needs to have a high counter on it, which can be done in one of two ways. The easiest way is to fuse seth (advanced fusion that requires four personas) and then use the high counter skill card you received during the last big outing in mementos (it dropped from shadow kiritani, AKA the killer who cleans up trash request).

The other way is actually fusing and using skill inheritance. Seth is an advanced fusion that requires isis, thoth, anubis and horus. Three of the four are from futaba’s palace, so you might have them from there or from inside mementos. The lowest level persona that has high counter is dakini (empress), who learns it at level 52. Scathach + thoth will get you dakini and your current empress confidant should be enough to get the skill (will have to grind otherwise).

From there, fuse dakini with pixie to get anubis, making sure to inherit high counter. The only persona you probably don’t have is horus, which has two fusions you could probably do right now. Either fuse kushinada with hecatoncheires, or go with bugs and anubis (if latter, inherit high counter). Once you have all four, fuse them together to get seth with high counter, which you can show to the twins and max out the strength confidant. Not only do you gain the ability to fuse zaou-gongen, the ultimate persona of the strength arcana, but you can actually fuse persona of a higher level than you. However, you will have to pay some money to do that. You are now done at the palace, so return to the real world, making sure you grab a hanged man persona for tonight.

November 13th (night)

When you get home, get a massage from kawakami, then go and hang out with iwai (don’t forget the hanged man persona).

Confidant: pick "are you sure he’s alive?" for your first answer, then whatever you want for the next four responses, and either "kaoru is really strong-willed" or "he’s a cool kid, huh?" for the last one.

Persona 5 royal casino prologue gameplay, kasumi gameplay in star ocean anamnesis revealed

Enako cosplayed persona 5 royal's kasumi yoshizawa and shared some fun anecdotes on the game.

Sega and atlus held a new persona 5 royal stream on september 27. The stream was special in how it only featured people who don’t know much about the persona series, so they didn’t reveal anything new information-wise. They showed some new gameplay though. This was in order to better promote the game to those who don’t know the series. Everyone on stream admitted they were a bit tense as well.

Persona 5 guide: Sae’s Casino Palace, persona 5 casino games.

The stream was MC’ed by multiple people, most notably enako, japan’s current most popular cosplayer. Enako was cosplaying kasumi yoshizawa. Her ponytail wig was really well styled and super cute.

The stream also featured multiple japanese streamers and personalities I don’t really feel like introducing, as it’ll take me time looking up all their profiles. But basically keep in mind that nearly none of them ever played the persona series.

Throughout the stream, enako mentioned she did play the original persona 5 though. Her favorite persona design-wise is alice, and gameplay-wise it’s yoshitsune. She also chatted about how she didn’t feel like hooking up joker with any of the girls, because they all feel more like comrades than love interests, but ended up picking ann.

Personally speaking, I’ve never found enako’s cosplays particularly amazing, and like most popular cosplayers nowadays, she mostly cosplays things I don’t care about like FGO. I gotta say she seemed perry cool during the stream though, so I’ve gotten a bit more interested now. You can find her twitter here.

Anyway, most of the stream was explaining the persona series and chatting about it, and then we got some live gameplay, at the timestamps linked below. First was a battle in the game’s 3rd palace, and then another battle in the casino, showing makoto and ryuji’s show time. As a reminder, while they didn’t show any show time attack with joker, they already confirmed joker has a show time attack which unlocks lategame, probably with goro.

How to create A nearly invincible killing machine in persona 5

One of the most fun parts of persona 5 is the fusion system. You enlist a variety of demonic allies, then mix them together to create even more powerful personas to use in combat. For the sake of balance, most of these creatures have strengths and weaknesses – but what if you’d rather be ridiculously overpowered? There is a way to minimize your vulnerability by creating a persona that only takes damage from an extremely narrow selection of sources – and who has a devastating physical attack.

[note: this feature contains no story spoilers, but it does reveal the names of a handful of late-game personas.]

What you’re doing

The goal is to fuse a version of yoshitsune (a persona of the tower arcana) that is invulnerable to most types of damage and, in several cases, absorbs that damage as extra HP to fuel his powerful physical attacks.

How you’re doing it

Yoshitsune has fantastic natural immunities; he takes reduced damage from fire, nullifies all physical attacks, and reflects lightning and bless spells back at enemies. Plus, he doesn’t have any weaknesses. We’re going to make yoshitsune practically unstoppable by plugging holes in the remaining elemental categories, fusing a version that also absorbs ice, wind, psy, and nuclear damage, and that also reflects curse (including those pesky instant-death spells). That means the only times he will take damage are from A) fire spells that only do reduced damage, and B) gun attacks, which are rare. In other cases, you take no damage or get healed, and you use that extra HP to perform yoshitsune’s exclusive and powerful hassou tobi attack.

Why you’re doing it

Maybe you just love the fusion system so much that you like seeing how badly you can break the rules by exploiting it – but there’s a more practical reason to create this super-yoshitsune for hardcore players. Persona 5 has a superboss that is only accessible on new game+, and while I won’t spoil any details, I can tell you that this persona will make that fight dramatically more manageable. He can also help you through the tough battles at the end of your first playthrough. However, be warned that your sense satisfaction in both cases might be diminished.

Preparation:

1. Hit rank 10 with ryuji, ann, and mishima. This shouldn’t be tough (ryuji and ann are some of the earliest confidants available to you). Maxing out all three ensures you’re able to fuse chi you, ishtar, and sandalphon, the ultimate personas in the chariot, lovers, and moon arcana respectively.

2. Fuse some other stuff. For this process, we’re also going to want the following personas: atropos, silky, high pixie, arahabaki, shiki-ouji, and narcissus. Just make sure you have them in your compendium so you can summon them when the time comes. You don’t need to worry about any of their abilities or levels. They’re just fuel for fusion.

Sacrificing a crystal skull in the gallows is a good way to speed up levels/skills during this process

3. Level up and save money. If you are not level 92 or higher, you also need to finish the strength arcana, which lets you pay to summon personas at a level higher than your main character.

NOTE: if you are planning on tackling the superboss on new game+, I highly recommend performing the yoshitsune fusion late in your first playthrough rather than waiting until you start over fresh. Your level and confidants reset on your second time through, so you should take advantage of not having pay through the nose for high-level fusions. Plus, your higher confidant ranks closer to the end of the game will provide more bonus experience to everything you create.

4. Keep playing the game. Yoshitsune is a fairly late-game fusion, and there’s no getting around that. That’s because the persona futsunushi is a requirement to create yoshitsune, and you need your magician confidant at rank 10 before it becomes available. For this particular fusion, you also want judgment at rank 10 for access to the satan persona, which happens even later. These relationships advance automatically as the story progresses, so just relax until then.

Fusing yoshitsune:

When other preparations are complete, head to the velvet room. You need five different personas to fuse yoshitsune, but just three of them require special attention, all with the goal of inheriting five (the max you can assign) specific passive traits: drain wind, drain ice, drain nuke, drain psy, and repel curse. You must select those skills to carry over in the steps outlined the below, but the other traits you inherit don’t matter.

1. Futsunushi with repel curse

  • Fuse sandalphon (level 78+ for repel curse) with narcissus

2. Yatagarasu with drain ice

  • Fuse satan (level 98+ for drain ice) with high pixie

3. Okuninushi with drain psy, drain wind, drain nuke

  • Fuse ishtar (natural drain wind) with chi you (level 90+ for drain psy) to create gabriel

  • Fuse gabriel with atropos to create kali

  • Bring kali to level 82+ to learn drain nuke

  • Fuse kali with silky

4. & 5. Arahabaki and shiki-ouji

  • Summon these two personas. Their skills don’t matter.

The big moment

With all five required personas in your stock, go to advanced fusion and create yoshitsune and use the five empty skill slots to inherit drain wind, drain ice, drain nuke, drain psy, and repel curse.

The finishing touch

Now, level yoshitsune up to 86 to learn hassou tobi (and don’t apply any other skills he learns along the way). This can be expedited by having a high rank in the tower confident for bonus XP when you fuse him, and/or by using the gallows execution to transform other persona into XP. You won’t have any open slots for hassou tobi; I chose to overwrite brave blade with it. Hassou tobi hits all enemies eight times with physical damage, which is enough to quickly blow through the HP of even the toughest bosses.

Congratulations! You now have a persona that effectively allows you to withstand almost every attack, and kill any assembly of enemies who don’t nullify physical damage. That particular set of skills also means that you can solo the superboss on new game+, provided you are lucky enough to not get hit by a critical gun attack.

One last option…

If you’re obsessive about optimization like I am, that lingering ziodyne is probably bothering you. Charge is great for making hassou tobi even more powerful, but ziodyne? You have plenty of other personas who can use that if you need it – why waste a skill slot on your best one?

You can use skill cards or the skill inheritance from gallows fusion to overwrite ziodyne with a more useful skill. Firm stance or ali dance are good choices to further decrease the already minimal damage yoshitsune takes. Unshaken will imparts immunity to various status ailments, which can be handy. Personally, I went with arms master (which I inherited from sacrificing raphael in the gallows), a skill that halves the HP cost of performing hassou tobi. But you can examine your options and choose what works best for your playstyle.

Have fun destroying everything!

so, let's see, what we have: sae’s palace is very straightforward. While the hallways may twist and turn, there is frequently only one path. It is broken up into a couple of different floors that you will progress through. No... At persona 5 casino games
